The rise of social media

Social media is something ten years ago we weren't exactly  buzzing about. Over the past few years sites like Myspace and Facebook have taken over. People advertise on the site creating money for Facebook. People join facebook everyday and now there are  65.7 million unique visitors. Myspace used to have this kind of buzz but has definitely died off with Facebook taking the lead by miles.

Twitter is another site which is on the rise there are so many more unique visitors this and year and if the site continues to grow at this rate then by this time next year Twitter will have 100 million unique users. Finding out about current events has never been so easy.

Companies are using social networks to promote their companies and is a free and easy way of getting your business out there to millions of people on the internet without paying. People are not sure how effective social media sites are at promoting your business but it can't harm their business if they are advertising them in a professional way.

Blogging is another way of making your business boom. A study has shown that companies with blogs written about them and linked to other sites provide more online leads than a company who doesn't have any internet or social media marketing. Although it seems like a long process its free and a great way of advertising whilst keeping your over heads down. 

With Facebook and Twitter becoming ever more popular this seems to be the direction in which people should move with advertising as people are logged into Facebook so often it only takes one person to like your page and it will promote it to all your friends this could be hundreds or even thousands!
